Motive Power (Transport)

There are plenty of ideas around on how to achieve zero emission vehicles, but it seems as difficult as ever to get products into the market profitably.

Vehicles have to run for 200,000 miles with high reliability, and have to meet expectations of drivers principally for certain fuel ranges, acceleration times and top speeds. This perhaps explains the conservatism of the automotive industry in adopting new technologies. On top of that is a paid-for fuel and servicing infrastructure which is geared to technologies developed over 100 years ago.

East of England innovators and entrepreneurs are part of the growing swell of investment which will see a change in this situation as pressure for reduced automotive impacts becomes stronger.
